Max Verstappen claimed victory in the first F1 Sprint Qualifying at the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.

This was the first time F1 fans had a chance to see the new Sprint format and it proved to be a big success. With rival Lewis Hamilton starting in P1, Verstappen knew he needed a strong start. With flames coming out of the wheels, the Dutchman sprinted into the lead on lap one, duelling with Hamilton throughout. However Verstappen held the lead for the 17-lap sprint and took the win, claiming three valuable Championship points and pole position in Sunday's main race.
